Juan Pablo Ospina Zapata

Juan Pablo is a postdoctoral researcher on the EAFIT team, leading the project, The Past, Present  and Future of Urban Footprint Growth in Latin American Cities.His research focuses on sustainable mobility issues and the relationship between land use and transportation planning. In particular, he has worked on the measurement of accessibility as a way of understanding the relationship between the use of transportation modes and the urban environment. Econometric and optimization models are among the tools he uses in his research. 

He gained his civil engineering degree from EAFIT University, and holds a  masters degree in Sustainable Urban Planning, in addition to a master degree in Mobility and Cities, both obtained in France. He is currently a PhD. candidate in civil engineering from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia.  Juan Pablo has worked as a lecturer at EAFIT university where he teaches Transportation Systems focusing on the articulation between sustainable mobility and urban development.
