We aim to understand the dynamics of China’s internal migration and urbanisation by developing a socio-spatial framework and applying it to multi-scalar empirical investigations.
Sichuang Chen is a graduate student, studying for a Master’s degree in human geography at the College of Urban and Environmental Sciences, Peking University. He is working on the project of internal migration and urbanization in China in PEAK Urban.
His research focuses on urbanization, urban and regional development and floating population. He previously researched on the settlement intention and registration transfer intention of internal migration in China and he has done some government consulting work about urban planning and new-type urbanization.
