Suman is a Research Associate for the PEAK project on Land Economy and Urban Finance looking at leveraging land as a financing instrument for urban local bodies. Her research interests lie in land economics, spatial and non-spatial data analysis, sustainability, climate change and environment. 

Suman is an urban planner and graduated from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, with a specialization in regional planning. She has previously worked in the core urban planning fields for the preparation of the revised Master Plan for Bangalore 2031 in which her work mainly focused on Bangalore’s economy, land values and lakes and watershed system among other sectors. She has also worked for preparation of Regional Plans for the National Capital Region, India and preparation of greenfield (new city) Development Plan in Maharashtra along the Mumbai-Pune Expressway.
