Education level, work experience and employment quality of China's floating population

Journal article

This paper constructs a three-dimensional comprehensive employment quality index system for work income, working hours and social security, and analyzes the impact of years of education and work experience on the employment quality of migrants.

The results show that the degree of influence of years of education on the quality of employment of the migrant population and its various dimensions is higher than that of work experience alone, and the latter has no significant effect on working hours.

We analyze the key role of education on the quality of employment of the migrant population from the perspective of life history: education level before migration to a large extent determines the occupational level of the migrant population, and the marginal return of work experience of low-level employees is lower, and the quality of employment is improved.
