This brief presents recent evidence about the relationships between features of the built-environment and cardiovascular disease and diabetes in Medellín, Colombia.

A better understanding of these relationships in cities in low-and middle-income countries can lead to improvements to urban planning guidelines and contribute to minimizing the burden of non-communicable diseases in these urban areas.
